Highway Engineer (Construction)

GPI seeks an enthusiastic Highway Engineer in our Milford, DE office to help further the growth and development of GPIs transportation services in the region. We are looking for an individual who is ready to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team in a growing office environment. GPI has numerous interesting and challenging projects involving all types of roadway, bridge, intersection, and trail designs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver projects for clients such as the Delaware Department of Transportation and the Maryland State Highway Administration.
  • Build effective client relationships by working collaboratively with the client.
  • Review and apply standards and other guidance to transportation applications.
  • Prepare and implement solutions that are responsive to project needs.
  • Complete tasks within the assigned schedule and budget.
Preferred Skills
  • Proficiency with Bentley Micro Station and Open Roads Designer.
  • Proficiency with technical writing.
  • Ability to create comprehensive and creative solutions to transportation problems.
  • Ability to work proficiently in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fields preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience in all aspects of Highway Engineering preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification.
  • PE licensure preferred.
  • Experience working on DelDOT and/or MDOT SHA projects preferred.
  • Experience in all aspects of roadway design preferred.
  • Experience with Micro Station and InRoads/ORD preferred.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
