General SummaryThe Clinical Coordinator is a member of the management team who assists the Nurse Manager with the daily operations of the nursing unit/department on a 24‑hour basis. The Clinical Coordinator provides direct supervision of staff and rotates weekend, holiday and shifts as needed to ensure management presence and visibility according to departmental needs. The Clinical Coordinator participates in employee selection and evaluation, in scheduling and staffing, and in the development and adherence to clinical and budgetary standards.
The Clinical Coordinator provides leadership to unit‑based work groups, i.e., PI and unit committees, and coordinates direct patient care.
- Collect relevant patient healthcare data, prioritize collection activities, document data systematically and continuously.
- Analyze data to determine patient needs, interact with patients and the healthcare team, and document outcomes and plans of care.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring interventions are documented and evaluated for effectiveness.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, use results to initiate change, and maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing practice.
- Collaborate with patients, families and other healthcare providers to provide patient care in a caring environment.
- Apply current concepts in clinical research utilization and consider factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
- Provide service excellence by listening attentively, maintaining visibility, and resolving customer issues in a timely manner.
- Education:
Bachelor Degree Nursing (BSN) - Credential(s):
Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Experience:
Minimum of one year in labor & delivery, recovery & post‑partum practice.

Master Degree Nursing - Credential(s):
Additional certification related to the position, if applicable. - Experience:
Three or more years in related labor & delivery practice.
