Base Pay Range$28.34/hr - $42.51/hr

General SummaryPerform direct patient cardiac diagnostic testing procedures with appropriate level of skill under the general supervision of a registered cardiac sonographer; in a timely and dependable manner consistent with current standards of care and departmental and/or hospital policy and procedure. Provide age specific care to patients of all ages.
Responsibilities- Accurately perform all echocardiogram studies ordered by physicians, limited to:
Transthoracic 2‑D, M‑Mode, Color‑flow Doppler, Pulsed wave Doppler, and Continuous wave Doppler. - Utilizes effective time management by prioritizing care and accommodating unforeseen circumstances while maintaining a high standard of quality, service, and professionalism.
- Accurately assess hospital information systems for processing and correct charging of all echocardiogram studies.
- Implement appropriate infection control practices and demonstrate a working knowledge of aseptic techniques and equipment disinfection.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate Program enrollment in a CAAHEP cardiac or cardiovascular ultrasound program. - Credential(s):
Registered Cardiac Sonographer within 1 year of hire;
Basic Life Support; or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) within one year of hire. - Experience:
At least 200 hours of clinical experience in a hospital/healthcare setting performing 2‑D Echocardiogram studies.
Successful completion of clinical rotation.
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience- Education:
Certificate Program Cardiovascular Sonography;
Pending graduate of a CAAHEP approved cardiac or cardiovascular sonography program within 3 months of hire.
