A Day in the Life of a Manager of FacilitiesThe Manager of Facilities oversees building and grounds maintenance, janitorial services, and repair services. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Vice President of Operations on short‑ and long‑term goals, developing programs to improve operations, leading a professional team, handling service contracts, maintaining equipment, and ensuring cooperative goals are met.
Qualifications for a Manager of Facilities- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field from an accredited college. Relevant experience may substitute for part of the educational requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, facility maintenance, or related utility functions.
- Knowledge of public bidding, contract management, inventory records, and trend projection methods.
