Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for delivering the highest level of patient care at a premier fertility center. The NP/PA assesses, diagnoses and treats patients, administers and orders appropriate tests, interprets laboratory tests, provides education and appropriate management for women and men in need of reproductive related services. The NP/PA collaborates with physicians and other clinicians in a team‑based approach to patient care.
ScheduleMonday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM (Open to candidates interested in a four‑day workweek).
Responsibilities- Perform ultrasound, sonohysterogram (SonoHSG), office hysteroscopies, endometrial biopsies, and OB scans.
- Manage patient cycles and support clinical workflow.
- Perform detailed infertility evaluations including gynecologic exams, procedures, ultrasonography and mock transfers.
- Perform “morning monitoring” which includes ultrasounds to monitor patient stimulation cycles, early pregnancy monitoring and IUI.
- Collaborate with physician in development and implementation of treatment plans for individual patients.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and provide referrals.
- Provide detailed and comprehensive patient counseling and education.
- Act as liaison between collaborating physician and clinical staff to ensure high‑level medical care and address issues for improvement.
- One weekend day per month in Newark (typically 7:30 AM–10:00 AM).
- Current state license as Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority.
- MSN or DNP – required.
- BLS – required.
- In some cases, ACLS may be required.
- Current board certification as Family Nurse Practitioner or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant.
- Previous experience in women's health or reproductive endocrinology and infertility – preferred.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
- May require unanticipated work beyond scheduled shift due to patient care needs.
- Ability to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
