About the RoleThe Service and Support Administration Supervisor provides leadership and operational oversight to a team of Service and Support Administrators. This role ensures individuals and families receive high‑quality, person‑centered service coordination, and that all services comply with state and federal requirements.
The SSA Supervisor supports staff development, ensures documentation accuracy, leads cross‑agency collaboration, and upholds DCBDD’s commitment to meaningful outcomes for people with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and evaluation of SSA staff; address performance concerns as needed.
- Ensure SSAs carry out all responsibilities related to person‑centered planning, waiver processes, monitoring, quality assurance, and individual budgets.
- Review and approve OISPs, TCM notes, PAWS, PAS, and other required documentation for compliance and accuracy.
- Provide backup supervision for SSA teams when needed.
- Facilitate SSA team meetings and participate in departmental and administrative meetings.
- Onboard new SSA staff and support ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
- Collaborate with SSA Supervisors to identify trends, training needs, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Work with schools, providers, and community partners to support individuals with complex needs.
- Participate in Medicaid Administrative Claiming (MAC).
- Contribute to accreditation efforts and policy/procedure development.
- Participate in the on‑call rotation, providing crisis support and authorizing emergency services when needed.
- Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to all ORC, OAC, and DCBDD policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, education, health and human services, law enforcement, behavioral science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Four years of full‑time experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Three years supervisory experience preferred.
- Must meet requirements for SSA Supervisor Certification (OAC 5123:2‑5‑02) or obtain certification upon hire.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of social work practices, DD systems, applicable state/federal regulations, and the Rights of Ohioans with Developmental Disabilities.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, confidentiality, and ability to build positive working relationships.
- Ability to promote a positive, inclusive culture for individuals served, families, staff, providers, and partners.
- Successful completion of required background checks and reference screenings.
- Light physical requirements (ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally).
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
- Flexibility in schedule based on organizational and individual needs.
