Individual is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, responsible for prosecution of criminal offenses occurring within Delaware County. The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney’s primary responsibility is in the criminal division and may include all of the following responsibilities: reviewing and indicting adult felony cases presented to the office by law enforcement as the grand jury prosecutor. Appear regularly in common pleas courtrooms for variety of criminal hearings and trials.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys represent the Prosecuting Attorney and the State of Ohio in court, in the community, to law enforcement, to victims, to witnesses, and to the general public.
- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record.
- In a timely manner, assesses incoming adult felony cases for potential further prosecution, for referral to municipal court or for closing, then prepares the case file accordingly
- Meets and interacts with the victims and witnesses of criminal offenses
- Maintains active trial docket and appellate work as assigned for trial docket prosecutors
- Advises the Prosecuting Attorney on legal matters pertaining to the office
- Maintains Twenty-Four-Hour availability to handle questions from Delaware County law enforcement agencies when on call
- Other duties as assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney
