Be the customer‑facing voice for Knapp Inc. You will manage all communication between the customer and the site team, attend production meetings, develop and manage budgets, and drive project and maintenance programs for automated storage and retrieval systems. You will also build and maintain customer relationships, lead preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensure escalation procedures are followed.
Leadership Overview- Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the Resident Site Engineering Manager and team
- Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Perform ultimate site supervision and leadership
- Oversee interview, hiring, and training of potential site team
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance of first‑level management team
- Reward and discipline employees as the leader of the leadership team
- Address complaints and assist in providing appropriate resolutions
- Lead and manage a team to provide first‑class maintenance of automated storage and retrieval systems and picking systems at customer locations
- Report to the Director RBS Operations and ensure responsiveness and service for the customer
- Create a safety culture in all activities undertaken by you and your site team
- Provide excellent customer service and strengthen Knapp’s reputation
- Provide value that the customer can see and understand
- Deliver rapid and effective support to gain a positive reputation
- Manage site budgets and commercial activities
- Develop team skills to ensure delivery of defined Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Oversee system improvements, installations, and training requirements
- Mentor, coach, and develop on‑site staff and resources
- Increase the scope and efficiency of Knapp’s support solutions
- Be an effective manager focused on team development
- Guide the team to meet time frames for reactive repairs
- Inform on‑site and off‑site management of local issues and successes, addressing concerns professionally
- Ensure Health & Safety accountability and conduct risk assessments
- Provide monthly summary and detailed reports covering commercial and technical activities
- Improve service levels and optimize resource utilization through adoption of industry best practices
- Manage daily activities of all personnel and provide quality support and maintenance services
- Plan and implement system security policy
- Promote alignment of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) maintenance objectives
- Resolve resourcing issues beyond the Resident Site Manager’s control
- Champion maintenance team review meetings and process improvements to increase customer satisfaction
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets and cost projections
- Manage the supply chain, ensuring cultural alignment of sub‑suppliers
- Maintain accurate MHE Preventative Maintenance schedules and monitor progress
- Assist with MHE quality, health, and safety compliance
- Manage MHE and Maintenance Cost Plan (MCP)
- Ensure timely supply of MHE maintenance hardware
- Maintain MHE Health and Safety File
- Ensure proper allocation of spares inventory
- Serve as custodian of site escalation and grievance procedures related to MHE scope
- Participate in performance training and improvement programs
- Perform duties as required that are commensurate with the role
- Respond to and address emergency calls
