Job Title: Warehouse Team Lead
Location: Camp 1
Reports To: Warehouse Operations Manager
Department: Operations
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for leading daily warehouse operations while actively working alongside the team. This role ensures safety, productivity, accuracy, and adherence to company standards while serving as the first level of leadership for warehouse associates.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and People Management- Lead, coach, and support warehouse associates during daily operations
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Operations Manager to assign daily tasks and ensure labour is aligned with workload priorities
- Provide on-the‑spot training, guidance, and corrective coaching
- Model Debrand’s values, professionalism, and safe work practices
- Escalate performance, attendance, or behavioural concerns to management
- Support onboarding and training of new hires
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including but not limited to receiving, put‑away, staging, and shipping
- Ensure data is entered correctly to company software
- Maintain a clean and organized floor
- Step in to perform hands‑on duties as needed
- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Conduct safety checks and address hazards immediately
- Report incidents, near‑mises, and equipment issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies
- Act as the primary point of contact between associates and management
- Communicate priorities, expectations, and operational updates clearly and effectively
Track attendance, productivity, and daily performance metrics - Provide end‑of‑shift updates
- 2+ years of warehouse or dock experience; lead experience preferred
- Valid forklift certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire if expired. Previous forklift experience is required
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping/receiving procedures
- Ability to input data accurately and update software in real time
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams
- Basic computer skills. This role requires the use of Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel) and various internal programs
- Able to lift 50+lbs and work on feet for extended periods
- High attention to detail, safety‑minded, and capable of balancing multiple tasks
- Passion for sustainability and circular economy principles
- Hands‑on, solutions‑oriented leadership style
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement practices
- Accountability and reliability
- Calm, respectful leadership style
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making
- Time management and prioritization
- Warehouse environment with regular forklift use, truck traffic, and material handling.
- Requires PPE: steel‑toe/composite‑toe footwear, high‑vis vests. Company provides reimbursement after 3 month probationary period with original receipt.
- May require occasional overtime depending on workload.
- Heavy machinery on site, including balers and conveyors.
- Facility is not temperature controlled, can get cold in winter and hot in summer.
