Senior System Engineer – Product Development

Kipp & Zonen is the specialist in the measurement of solar and sky radiation, from the ultraviolet to the far infrared. We offer a complete range of high‑quality instrumentation and accessories, from reliable cost‑effective products to the best performance available. Our pyranometers, for example, are used in meteorological networks around the world. Furthermore, our expertise and close links with the scientific community have led to high‑end solutions for the measurement of atmospheric properties such as stratospheric Ozone, UV Spectra and evapo‑transpiration.

Our mission is to satisfy the fundamental need to monitor atmospheric properties related to climate change, classical meteorology, agriculture, renewable energy and the available water budget. The role is based in Delft, where our factory and production operations are located. It is a full‑time, onsite position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
Responsibilities   Apply systems engineering tools to assess designs, solve constraints, and support verification and testing.
Ensure smooth integration of new technologies into the overall product development process.
Coach and mentor the NPD team in architecture, design, and critical reviews (ADR/CDR).
Lead technology evaluation and platform development to enable advanced product innovation.
Collaborate with R&D management to drive efficiency, structure, and change management across teams.
Requirements   Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
7+ years in electromechanical hardware development.
3+ years leading multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in translating user needs into system requirements.
Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills across complex projects.
Experience working with external development partners.
Proficient in English;
Dutch is a plus.
