Hybrid. Candidates must be able to work from one of our offices in Delft, Netherlands;
Ghent, Belgium; or Guildford, United Kingdom.

At Lanza Tech, we’re turning waste carbon into new beginnings. Using our proprietary bio-fermentation technology, we transform industrial emissions, carbon dioxide, and gasified waste into  ethanol —a building block for a wide range of sustainable products, including  Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)  and other critical chemical derivatives. With  six commercial facilities  already in operation and more on the way, we’re scaling fast to meet the world’s growing demand for fuels and materials.

Our technology helps industrial sectors by unlocking value from emissions that would otherwise go to waste. Together with our partners, we’re building a  circular carbon economy —where carbon is continuously reused, not released.

The Project Engineer supports the execution of large capital projects (€100M+) across the project development lifecycle—from early development support through design, permitting, and financial close. This role serves as a key technical and coordination resource, bridging engineering, project management, permitting, and external partners to ensure project deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with scope, schedule, and budget objectives. The position contributes to technical reviews, execution planning, permitting coordination, project stewardship, and continuous improvement of project delivery practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong process engineering background and use their technical knowledge to be an effective contributor.

Work Conditions

Candidates must be able to work from/travel to our offices in Delft, Netherlands;

Able to work in a office and/or remote environment within the United Kingdom/Europe.

Proficiency with MS Office and project coordination software tools.

Travel up to approximately 30% within the United Kingdom and Europe and internationally to support project development, engineering, planning, and permitting activities.

Lanza Tech is pioneering the use of gas fermentation technology to recycle waste carbon emissions into ethanol, which can then be converted into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) through an Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) process. With an exciting pipeline of commercial-scale capital projects advancing across Europe, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to first-of‑kind industrial projects that are shaping the future of sustainable aviation and the circular carbon economy.

At Lanza Tech, you’ll join a team grounded in zero harm, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning. We value people who lift others up, take ownership, find solution, and stay curious as we work together to deliver meaningful results. If you are motivated by purpose, teamwork, and the opportunity to make a real contribution, you will feel at home here.
