Senior Mechatronics Systems Architect / Technical Lead
As a Senior Mechatronics Systems Architect / Technical Lead, you will take ownership of the technical development and system integration of a critical module within a highly complex precision machine. Acting as the technical authority, you will bridge the gap between system architecture, engineering disciplines, project management, and external stakeholders.

Working closely with the System Architect and project team, you will translate customer and system needs into clear, traceable, and verifiable requirements. You will drive requirements engineering throughout the entire development lifecycle, ensuring consistency, completeness, and alignment with project objectives.

You will be responsible for identifying technical risks, managing design complexity, and guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams toward robust and innovative solutions. As the leading technical expert, you will evaluate design alternatives, perform system-level trade‑off analyses, and make informed engineering decisions that balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.

Throughout the project, you will maintain oversight of architecture, system performance, and verification activities. During the detailed design, assembly, integration, and testing phases, you will work closely with specialists across mechanical, optical, electrical, and software domains to ensure the successful realization of the system.

In addition, you will mentor and support engineers within the team, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing. You will communicate effectively with project management, customers, suppliers, and development partners, ensuring alignment on technical progress, risks, and deliverables.

At the conclusion of the verification phase, you will ensure compliance with all system requirements and drive corrective or mitigating actions where necessary.

What do you bring?

MSc or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in complex high‑tech product development environments.

Proven experience with Systems Engineering methodologies, requirements management, system architecture, verification, and validation.

Experience developing precision mechatronic systems, preferably within semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, medical technology, or other high‑tech industries.

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, software, and optical system interactions.

Ability to lead technical decision‑making processes and perform system‑level trade‑off analyses.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage at both engineering and executive levels.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities combined with a pragmatic, results‑driven mindset.

Natural leadership qualities with a passion for coaching and developing engineering talent.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
