Quantum R&D Engineer

Quantum R&D Engineer ut the role  Quant Ware is seeking a Quantum R&D Engineer to specialize in Travelling Wave Parametric Amplifiers (TWPA). You will be a key expert in the physics and design of these amplifiers, translating product needs into new architectures. Your work will involve pushing the boundaries of microwave engineering and integrating advanced components on-chip.

What you’ll do   Convert product specifications and features into TWPA layouts and circuit designs through detailed simulations.
Lead efforts to miniaturize TWPA architectures and successfully design and integrate essential peripheral components directly onto the chip.
Conduct research to expand bandwidth, enhance noise performance, and integrate functions like pump coupling and isolation.
Clearly present technical findings and proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences to influence product roadmaps.
Stay current with the latest literature and techniques in parametric amplification, contributing new ideas to the team.
Requirements   PhD or equivalent industry experience in quantum-limited amplification, parametric amplifiers (e.g., TWPAs, JPAs), or related superconducting microwave circuits.
Extensive knowledge of non-linear metamaterials, Josephson circuits, and mixing processes.
Over 3 years of practical experience in advanced microwave design and simulation (e.g., CST, HFSS), with a proven record of matching simulations to cryogenic measurement data.
Demonstrated ability for independent and creative problem-solving in a research and development environment.
Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly presenting technical results and influencing cross-disciplinary decisions.
