The Hardware & Software System Validation team is responsible for bringing together hardware, SoC, software, firmware and protocol stacks within embedded communication systems. The team ensures that all elements integrate successfully, operate as intended and meet overall system and product requirements.
This role will focus on defining integration and validation strategies, developing and maintaining validation environments, executing system-level testing and troubleshooting complex HW/SW issues. You will work closely with Silicon Engineering, Software, Systems, Algorithms and Applications teams throughout the full product development lifecycle.
This is an onsite position in Delft, The Netherlands.
Responsibilities Define HW/SW integration and system validation strategies, criteria and test plans.
Integrate hardware, SoC, firmware and software components and execute functional, regression and performance validation.
Develop and maintain automated validation frameworks, test infrastructure and hardware laboratory setups.
Investigate, debug and resolve complex hardware/software integration issues alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
Collaborate with Hardware, Software, Silicon Validation, Systems, Algorithms and Applications Engineering teams.
Contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from early concept and development through to final product validation and release.
Requirements Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Several years of experience in hardware/software integration, testing or system validation; typically 4–6 years for mid-level positions and 10+ years for senior/lead roles.
Strong understanding of embedded systems, including hardware and low-level software.
Strong programming experience with C/C++, alongside Python or other scripting languages for test automation and data analysis.
Knowledge of wireless communication technologies such as GNSS, Bluetooth, IoT and LoRa.
Familiarity with interfaces and communication protocols including Ethernet, SPI, UART, I2C and LVDS.
Understanding of RF components including ADCs, DACs, ADPLLs, filters and LNAs.
Experience with functional, regression and unit testing methodologies.
Hands-on experience using laboratory and validation equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analysers and RF signal generators.
Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills.
