The Battery Engineer will play an essential role in evaluating and optimizing battery materials and processes in the CarbonX laboratory.
Key Responsibilities Work with engineers and technicians to evaluate and improve battery materials and processes.
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Conduct quality control, ensuring precision and accuracy of experimental results.
Record detailed observations and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot problems and optimize production workflows.
Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Functional Focus Areas Option 1 - Slurry / Electrode Focus
Slurry mixing and rheology analysis.
Measurement of fineness and solid content.
Electrode coating and calendaring.
Electrode quality control and characterization.
Option 2 - Cell Assembly Focus
Coin cell and SLP cell assembly.
Battery testing and data processing.
Post-mortem analysis of battery cells.
Candidate Profile MBO, HBO, or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a battery laboratory environment.
Expertise in one or more areas such as slurry preparation, coating, calendaring, or SLP assembly.
Experience performing laboratory tests and analytical procedures.
Strong understanding of quality control methodologies.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Interest in sustainable energy and innovative battery technologies.
