QphoX is looking for a hands-on Production Technician (Electronics Assembly) to join our Engineering team in developing and manufacturing advanced electro-optical systems for quantum computing applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting advanced electronic and electro-optical hardware. This position is ideal for someone with strong practical electronics assembly experience who wants to grow into a broader production engineering role. As our products and manufacturing processes mature, you will increasingly contribute to process improvements, manufacturing documentation, and scaling production.
No previous experience in quantum engineering or quantum technology is required. In fact, we actively encourage candidates from electronics, manufacturing, mechatronics, and other hands‑on technical backgrounds to apply. We will teach you what you need to know about our technology, the practical skills and experience you bring are what matter most for this role.
Joining a dynamic team of engineers, scientists, and technicians, you will play a key role in transforming innovative quantum technologies into reliable products. You will work at the intersection of electronics, optics, mechanics, and manufacturing, helping to bring cutting‑edge hardware from prototype to production.
You will be involved in:- Assembling electronic and electro‑optical systems, including PCB soldering, cable harnesses, and precision mechanical assemblies.
- Building, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing assemblies and subsystems according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Supporting prototype builds, pilot production, and new product introduction activities.
- Performing functional testing, diagnostics, and failure analysis using laboratory and production equipment.
- Identifying assembly issues and contributing to improvements in product quality, manufacturability, and production efficiency.
- Creating and maintaining assembly documentation, work instructions, and production records.
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating material requirements to support production schedules.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve assembly processes and manufacturing workflows.
- Gradually taking ownership of production engineering activities, including process optimization, production tooling, and manufacturing scalability.
- MBO/HBO/BSc in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- 2-5 years of hands‑on experience assembling, soldering, testing, and troubleshooting electronic products in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
- Strong hands‑on PCB soldering skills, including through‑hole and fine‑pitch SMD components.
- Experience assembling electronic systems, cable harnesses, and precision electro‑mechanical hardware.
- Experience using laboratory and production equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical, organized, and quality‑focused approach.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Good organizational and planning skills to achieve goals on time.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and develop into a broader production engineering role.
- Electro‑optical, photonic, fiber‑optic, laser, or quantum technology systems.
- Precision mechanical assembly and optical alignment.
- Experience supporting manufacturing process improvements or new product introduction.
