As a Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and scaling Vydar's next-generation defence technology. You will work closely with our founding team and technical partners to bring our solutions from lab to field deployment.

You will develop embedded software for constrained hardware and AI edge computing devices used in defense applications. This includes systems for missile platforms, UAVs, drones, and distributed sensing networks. The role combines low-level embedded development, system architecture, and hands-on testing in real-world environments.

You will join a team of 7 to 10 highly skilled engineers with backgrounds in aerospace, microelectronics, embedded hardware and software, and machine vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain embedded software for resource-constrained systems
  • Debug embedded hardware and software issues using tools such as JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes
  • Define and maintain software architecture across firmware, OS, and application layers
  • Optimize performance, latency, and power consumption
  • Support field testing, system bring-up, and on-site validation of deployed systems
Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or Computer Engineering
  • MSc preferred, BSc considered with relevant experience
  • Strong experience with embedded C, Rust or C++
  • Understanding of real-time systems and concurrency
  • Ability to debug complex system-level issues independently
  • Good communication in English (Dutch is a plus)
  • NATO-friendly citizenship or valid EU work permit
