Responsibilities:

Convert author-submitted manuscripts into clear, accurate, and engaging voiceover transcripts and video scripts.
Collaborate with authors to guide their manuscripts through the JoVE video creation process.
Proofread and review the video scripts to ensure scientific accuracy, clarity, and error-free content.
Interpret scientific comments, feedback, and requirements accurately and implement necessary changes with precision.
Utilize AI-assisted writing and editing tools effectively as part of the content development workflow.
Review journal protocol videos to ensure scientific accuracy and adherence to publication standards.
Assess author feedback on rough video drafts and effectively communicate required revisions to the video editing team.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict production timelines.
Follow established guidelines and maintain high-quality standards throughout the script development process.
Take initiative to identify and propose process improvements that enhance efficiency and content quality.

Requirements:

PhD in biology, molecular biology, bioengineering, chemistry, or a related natural science discipline.
1-3 years of experience in scientific communication, technical writing, or educational content creation.
Strong scientific and technical vocabulary with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated strength in editing and proofreading.
Ability to apply AI-assisted tools in writing, editing, or content development workflows.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify scientific inaccuracies in written and visual materials.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
Ability to follow detailed guidelines and consistently meet strict deadlines.
Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional production teams.
Enthusiasm for science and a willingness to learn about new research areas and visual communication methods.
A record of original research published in peer-reviewed scientific journals is strongly preferred.
