Academic Counsellor – UPSC

About the Role :
We are looking for a dynamic, goal-oriented Academic Counsellor – UPSC with strong knowledge of the UPSC ecosystem. The role involves guiding aspirants through Unacademy’s UPSC programs, driving student enrolments, and ensuring a smooth and supportive counselling and enrolment experience. You will play a key role in helping learners make informed academic decisions while achieving enrolment targets.
Key Responsibilities :
Prospecting & Lead Management
● Identify and research prospective students, target segments, and local markets.
● Generate and manage leads through calls, online research, networking, and local outreach.
Student Counselling & Relationship Management
● Interact with UPSC aspirants to understand their academic goals and learning needs.
● Recommend suitable courses and learning programs based on student requirements.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and enrolled students.
● Ensure high levels of student satisfaction through timely follow-ups and support.
Enrolment & Revenue Growth
● Drive enrolments by conducting effective counselling sessions and program presentations.
● Meet and exceed enrolment and revenue targets.
● Handle objections, negotiate where required, and close enrolments efficiently.
Market Insights & Analysis
● Stay updated on UPSC exam trends, student behaviour, and competitor offerings.
● Share insights to improve counselling strategies and program positioning.
Reporting & Documentation
● Maintain accurate records of leads, counselling interactions, and conversions in CRM systems.
● Prepare regular performance reports and enrolment forecasts for management review.
Collaboration
● Work closely with sales, academic, and product teams to achieve shared objectives.
● Share student feedback to help improve offerings and overall learner experience.
Qualifications & Skills
● Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred).
● Strong understanding of UPSC examinations and preparation ecosystem is mandatory.
● Experience across the counselling/sales lifecycle, including enrolment closure.
● Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
● Proficiency in English or Hindi (both preferred).
● Experience with CRM tools or lead management systems.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
● High integrity, professionalism, and a learner-first mindset.
