Brief of the Role
The Associate Dean - School of Business will be responsible for driving academic excellence, curriculum planning and execution, faculty development, student success, industry engagement, and departmental growth. The role requires a strong academic leader with relevant industry exposure who can create a dynamic learning environment while ensuring alignment with institutional objectives, evolving business landscapes, and industry requirements.
Requirements
1. Curriculum Development & Planning
• Lead course planning and academic delivery for Business and Management programs.
• Ensure effective implementation of the academic calendar.
• Drive continuous curriculum enhancement in line with emerging business, entrepreneurship, marketing, consulting, retail, luxury, and digital transformation trends.
• Collaborate with academic leadership to introduce innovative learning methodologies, industry projects, and interdisciplinary learning experiences.
2. Curriculum Execution
• Monitor course delivery, assessments, and academic outcomes.
• Review student performance data and academic progress.
• Ensure quality and consistency in teaching and evaluation standards.
• Facilitate smooth progression of students across academic levels.
3. Faculty Management
• Mentor and guide faculty members on academic delivery, course structures, and performance expectations.
• Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, and development initiatives.
• Manage teaching allocations, timetables, and resource planning.
• Conduct faculty reviews and provide constructive feedback to drive academic excellence.
4. Teaching & Academic Delivery
• Teach and deliver specialized Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategy, or related courses and modules.
• Guide students on business problem-solving, critical thinking, leadership, innovation, and industry best practices.
• Encourage project-based learning, live consulting assignments, case-study pedagogy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Support faculty in developing and updating learning resources and teaching materials.
5. Industry Engagement & External Relations
• Build and strengthen relationships with corporates, startups, industry associations, consulting firms, business leaders, and alumni.
• Facilitate industry projects, masterclasses, workshops, internships, live business challenges, and guest lectures.
• Collaborate with Career Services to enhance internship and placement opportunities.
• Represent the department during admissions, outreach activities, industry forums, and institutional initiatives.
6. Student Mentoring & Development
• Mentor students on academic performance, career pathways, and professional development.
• Address student concerns and ensure timely resolution of academic issues.
• Drive student participation in business competitions, case challenges, entrepreneurship initiatives, industry conferences, and leadership forums.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, leadership, and professional excellence.
7. Research, Innovation & Departmental Growth
• Promote research, innovation, thought leadership, and scholarly contributions within the department.
• Support the Academic Director in creating a strong research and knowledge-sharing culture.
• Identify opportunities for consulting assignments, industry collaborations, executive education, management development programs, and other revenue-generating initiatives.
• Contribute to strategic planning and long-term growth of the School of Business.
• Undertake additional academic and administrative responsibilities as required.
Preferred Candidate Profile
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategy, Economics, or a related discipline (PhD preferred).
• 15+ years of relevant experience across academia and/or industry.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, academic leadership, and faculty management.
• Strong industry network across corporate, consulting, startup, entrepreneurship, or business ecosystems.
• Passion for mentoring students and driving academic excellence.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
