Position: Quality Assurance Engineer (m/f/d) – Finance & Indexing
BITA is a Fintech company with the mission of disrupting the index and systematic investment industry. Through advanced software, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and high-quality data, we empower our clients to develop innovative investment products faster, flexibly, and at a lower cost. We are a young and dynamic team of more than 60 people located worldwide, unified by a strong belief that the investment industry is ready for a new challenger.

We are seeking a  QA Engineer  with solid experience in test automation within CI/CD environments, ideally with a background in financial products, indexing, or market data. This individual will be responsible for designing, executing, and automating tests for our internal systems—covering backend (APIs) and frontend—fully integrated into our Git Lab pipelines.

The ideal candidate will also be able to generate clear, actionable reports based on both manual and automated testing results, helping to ensure quality across the entire development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, execute, and maintain both automated and manual test cases—covering APIs, frontend, and other critical system components—to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Develop, automate, and execute functional tests for REST APIs (using Postman/Newman) and end-to-end tests for frontend components (using Cypress or Selenium).
Document, manage, and track test cases, bugs, and QA activities in Click Up, leveraging its integration with Git Lab for traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
Execute regression, smoke, and exploratory tests manually as needed to validate system functionality and uncover issues beyond scripted scenarios.
Create and maintain clear QA reports based on manual and automated test results, providing actionable insights to help teams track and improve quality over time.
Review and provide feedback on user manuals and end-user documentation to ensure technical accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate closely with developers and product owners to define acceptance criteria, continuously improve QA processes, and foster a culture of quality and automated testing.

Requirements:
3–4 years of experience  in QA roles, with a strong focus on test automation and QA best practices.
Previous experience in the financial sector or a solid understanding of  indexing , financial instruments, or market data.
Hands-on experience writing and executing automated tests within  Git Lab CI/CD pipelines .
Proficiency with  Postman  for API testing, including environment configurations and collection scripting.
Familiarity with  Click Up  as a tool for managing QA documentation, test cases, and defect tracking.
Ability to generate clear QA reports that summarize test results, failures, coverage, and quality insights.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in designing reusable test plans, test suites, and cases.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Nice-to have

Skills:

Familiarity with  Cypress Dashboard ,  Git Lab Pages , or other tools for automated test reporting and visualization.

Experience with performance or load testing tools.
Comfort working with large datasets and validating data accuracy across systems.
Experience in fintech, stock exchanges, investment firms, or financial data providers.
Ability to verify the accuracy of  financial index calculations , including index formulas, rebalancing, and weightings.
Experience validating the correct handling and impact of  corporate actions  (e.g., splits, dividends, mergers, spin-offs) on financial instruments or index continuity.
Skill in reviewing and interpreting  raw financial data  (prices, volumes, market caps) to detect inconsistencies and propose improvements.
Understanding of cross-source data validation and techniques to ensure precision in financial data pipelines.
Familiarity with pricing models or specific rules applied to  indexed financial products  such as ETFs, custom benchmarks, or sector-based indices.
