Senior VMware VCF Automation Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation Engineer to lead and execute automation-driven initiatives across enterprise VMware environments. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating highly automated private cloud platforms while improving reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings deep VMware expertise, a strong automation mindset, and the ability to operate independently in complex, customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and operate VMware Cloud Foundation environments with a strong emphasis on automation and repeatability
Develop and maintain automation workflows for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and related VCF components
Lead infrastructure automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code and scripting frameworks
Drive operational consistency through automated upgrades, patching, health checks, and compliance validation
Troubleshoot complex issues across virtualized compute, storage, and networking layers, focusing on root-cause analysis and long-term remediation
Support and enhance disaster recovery and resiliency strategies for VMware-based environments
Partner with customer stakeholders and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable automation solutions
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational standards, and automation runbooks
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers as needed

Required Experience & Skills
Extensive hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and large-scale VMware environments
Deep expertise across vSphere, vSAN, and NSX, with strong operational and troubleshooting experience
Strong background in automation and Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Power

CLI, Ansible, Terraform, or similar
Proven experience automating infrastructure lifecycle operations in production environments
Solid understanding of enterprise networking, storage, and virtualization concepts
Experience working in consulting, service provider, or customer-facing engineering roles
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP, or equivalent

Experience with VMware Aria Automation or similar orchestration platforms
Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud architectures involving VMware
Familiarity with enterprise backup, recovery, and storage platforms
Experience defining automation standards and best practices across teams

Experience Profile
10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or platform engineering roles
Demonstrated success leading automation-focused initiatives in complex VMware environments
Proven ability to operate independently while guiding broader technical efforts
