Position Overview:
The System cum Network Admin – IT Operations is responsible for end-to-end administration, stability, and availability of IT systems and infrastructure at assigned manufacturing unit locations. This role serves as the primary onsite IT authority, ensuring uninterrupted IT operations, secure system configurations, and alignment with centralized IT and cybersecurity governance.
The position requires a senior, hands-on professional capable of independently managing IT operations while coordinating with global infrastructure, network, cloud, and security teams.
Key Responsibilities:
System & Server Administration
- Administer and support unit-level Windows servers, endpoints, and core IT services.
- Perform system health monitoring, performance tuning, and preventive maintenance.
- Manage Active Directory user accounts, group policies, access controls, and authentication services.
- Coordinate OS, application patching, and system upgrades with centralized IT teams.
- Support backup verification, restore testing, and system recovery activities.
Network & Infrastructure Operations
- Ensure reliable operation of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and network infrastructure.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of switches, routers, firewalls, and connectivity issues.
- Coordinate network configuration changes, upgrades, and maintenance with network engineering teams.
- Support ISP links, redundancy mechanisms, and local failover arrangements.
Manufacturing (Shop floor, Warehouse) & Office IT Support
- Provide direct IT support for manufacturing systems, engineering workstations, and shopfloor-connected devices.
- Prioritize and resolve critical MIS issues to minimize production downtime.
- Support integration of MIS systems in compliance with corporate IT and security standards.
End-User & Operational Support
- Provide onsite support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
- Support access to enterprise applications, file servers, and collaboration platforms.
- Log, track, and manage incidents and service requests using Jira or equivalent tools.
- Escalate complex issues with clear diagnostics and documentation.
Cybersecurity & Compliance Support
- Enforce corporate cybersecurity policies and baseline configurations at Corporate or BU’s level.
- Support endpoint protection, email security, system hardening, and access controls.
- Assist in cybersecurity incident response, remediation, and containment activities.
- Participate in vulnerability remediation, patch compliance, and audit readiness activities.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices among users.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, and network layouts.
- Perform routine IT health checks and preventive maintenance reporting.
- Provide operational inputs for IT, infrastructure, and cybersecurity reviews and audits.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 8+ years of experience in system administration, IT infrastructure, or IT operations within enterprise or manufacturing environments.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Certifications:
- One or more industry-recognized certifications preferred:
- Microsoft (Windows Server / Azure)
- AWS (Cloud Practitioner / Associate or higher)
- CompTIA (Network+, Security+, Server+)
- CCNA/CCNP etc.
Technical
Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Windows endpoints, Active Directory, Unix etc.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Hands on Cloud environments (Public/private/hybrid).
- Exposure on SOC/NOC/SIEM/Zero trust architecture.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial IT environments.
- Familiarity with backup systems, patch management, and endpoint security tools.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in any environment with high ownership.
- Clear communication and coordination with remote and global IT teams.
- High focus on uptime, reliability, and operational discipline.
Physical & Work Conditions
- Onsite presence required at assigned manufacturing facilities.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend support for maintenance windows or production needs.
