This role is frontend-heavy by design , owning epic structuring, task lifecycle control, dependency mapping, real-time progress tracking, documentation discipline, and stakeholder transparency within Jira. At the same time, the individual must maintain strong backend administration capabilities to ensure the platform’s workflows, permissions, automation, and integrations fully support operational execution.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Jira power user who operates daily within the system, manages complex multi-epic programs, ensures documentation accuracy, and drives execution visibility, while also possessing the backend technical depth required to configure and optimize the platform.
This is a high-impact role requiring operational ownership, technical maturity, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Frontend Leadership:
Program Execution & Operational Control (Primary Focus)
Own daily execution management within Jira across large-scale enterprise programs
Structure and manage complex epic hierarchies and multi-level task breakdowns
Break down strategic initiatives into executable tasks and subtasks with defined lifecycle states
Perform disciplined daily updates of statuses, artifacts, documentation, and activity tracking
Manage cross-epic, cross-team, and cross-location dependencies
Monitor timelines, milestone progress, and execution accuracy
Ensure artifact traceability and documentation mapping within Jira
Identify bottlenecks, slippage risks, and misaligned dependencies proactively
Support programs spanning 50+ sites or distributed work streams
Maintain real-time visibility into execution health and program progress
Platform Support:
Backend Configuration & Governance (Secondary but Essential)
Configure and administer workflows, issue types, custom fields, screens, and schemes
Manage permission models and role-based access control
Design automation rules to enforce lifecycle discipline
Support Jira Cloud and/or Data Center environments
Participate in Data Center to Cloud migrations (configuration validation, app migration, governance alignment)
Manage integrations with tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Service Now, and CI/CD platforms
Ensure audit readiness, compliance, and governance standards
Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams for system stability
Reporting & Stakeholder Transparency
Develop and maintain executive dashboards and structured reporting views
Provide visibility into epics, dependencies, risks, and milestone performance
Present execution updates to technical, operational, and business stakeholders
Ensure continuous documentation accuracy and operational clarity
Support governance reviews and audit reporting
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field
Minimum 6+ years of experience in enterprise project or PMO environments
Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Jira administration and execution experience
Proven experience managing large programs with multiple epics, structured task hierarchies, and dependency mapping
Strong experience supporting Jira Cloud and/or Data Center platforms
