About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accessibility Tester to ensure our digital products are accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities.
As an Accessibility Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of major frameworks. You will be an authority in accessibility, covering Voice Over, Smart Invert, Dynamic Type, full keyboard access, color/contrast, and more.
Responsibilities
- Conduct website reviews, analysis, remediation and functional testing.
- Assess and optimize website designs through review and analysis of user needs to meet the website accessibility needs.
- Provide technical assistance and remediation guidance to designers, developers and QA.
- Evaluate websites, applications, and other digital content for compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).
- Conduct manual and automated tests, identifying barriers, providing actionable feedback, and working closely with developers to ensure accessibility improvements.
- Create accessibility procedures, documentation, and perform audits to determine opportunities for improvements.
- Analyze crash logs, back traces, and assist engineers with debugging techniques.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement accessible solutions.
- Report on testing results and track progress.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or similar field with 5 years of working experience.
- 3-5 years of Experience in Testing.
- 2-3 yrs relevant experience in Accessibility testing.
Required Skills
- Capable of thinking scenarios.
- Well-versed with the testing process such as Agile Workflow, Test Case Creation, Bug Reporting, Defect Tracking, and creating tracking documents.
- Should have knowledge of WCAG 2.0 and 2.1.
- Should have experience in working with Screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, Voice Over, Talkback.
- Good in written and verbal communication.
- Capable of handling Client Calls.
- Proactive and Innovative.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with web development practices and usability testing.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in WCAG 2.0, 2.1, Section 508, ADA, other accessibility laws and standards.
- Experience with accessibility testing tools like NVDA, JAWS, CCA, WAVE, AXE etc.
- Expertise in Accessibility testing for Browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) Tablet, and Mobile devices (IOS & Android) Using Voice Over, Talk Back, Accessibility Inspector, ANDI, Magnifier, Keyboard.
- Strong knowledge on accessibility testing process like Requirement gathering, effort estimation, test plan preparation and Reporting.
- Working knowledge in Agile methodology.
- Should have exposure/hands-on on defect management tool like ALM, JIRA.
