Chief Technology Officer (Founding CTO)
Dubai | Financial Infrastructure | MENA

We are building the financial operating layer for the MENA region a secure, scalable infrastructure platform designed to power underwriting, financial distribution and capital flows across a rapidly expanding market.

This is a ground-up infrastructure build with long-term institutional ambition.

Headquartered in Dubai and supported by an engineering team in India, we are seeking a Founding CTO to architect and engineer the system from first principles.

The technical challenge:

Designing a production-grade, multi-tenant financial platform capable of handling sensitive financial data, complex decision workflows, third-party integrations and regulatory constraints while maintaining performance, resilience and long-term maintainability.

About the Role

You will:

• Architect and build a multi-tenant SaaS platform

• Design scalable backend infrastructure (cloud-native)

• Lead system architecture, security, and Dev Ops setup

• Build AI-assisted workflows (LLM integrations)

• Define Git Hub governance, CI/CD, and code standards

• Recruit and lead an India-based engineering team

• Translate business logic (mortgage / finance workflows) into product architecture

• Prepare technical documentation for investors

This is a build-from-zero role, not a maintenance position.

You will own:

• End-to-end system architecture

• Data modeling and service segmentation

• Secure authentication, authorization and audit frameworks

• Distributed system design and performance optimization

• Cloud-native infrastructure and deployment governance

• Engineering standards and long-term technical roadmap
We are looking for a senior backend systems architect with real production experience. Someone who has built and scaled distributed systems, understands security-by-design, and is comfortable solving complex architectural problems under real-world constraints.

This is a founding role with full architectural ownership, strategic influence and meaningful equity alignment.

Required Profile

Experience

• 8+ years in software engineering

• 3+ years building SaaS products

• Experience in fintech, lending, payments, or financial systems

• Experience designing scalable architecture (not just coding features)

Technical

• Strong backend (Node.js / Python / Go or similar)

• Modern frontend (React / Next.js or similar)

• Cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Azure)

• Database design (Postgres, No

SQL where relevant)

• API architecture & integrations

• Security-first mindset (data protection, access control, encryption)

• CI/CD and Dev Ops understanding

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS models

Bonus

• Experience with AI integrations / LLM workflows

• Experience in financial eligibility engines, underwriting logic, or risk models

• Built something from 0 → scale
