Role Description
This is a remote, contract role for an Accessibility Services:
Alt Text and Video Accessibility Writer in Sciences. Responsibilities include creating accurate alt text for scientific imagery, reviewing and refining automated alt text outputs, and ensuring video accessibility through captioning and transcription for STEM content. The role also involves adhering to accessibility guidelines, such as WCAG standards, collaborating with teams to align with client requirements, and conducting quality checks to deliver precise and compliant content.
Qualifications
Strong Analytical Skills, with attention to detail and the ability to process and interpret complex scientific and STEM-related content
Excellent Communication skills to make technical content clear and user-friendly for diverse audiences
Customer Service background to collaborate effectively with clients and address accessibility needs
Understanding of Sales and Finance concepts beneficial for engaging in client discussions and ensuring cost-effective solutions
Familiarity with WCAG standards, accessibility tools, and AI-assisted platforms for accessibility enhancements
Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines consistently
Experience in STEM fields or higher education content creation is a plus
