This role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, data modeling, and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities  Architect and design scalable data solutions using Azure Cosmos DB (Core/SQL API, Mongo

DB API, Cassandra API, Gremlin, Table API).
Define data partitioning strategies, indexing policies, and throughput optimization (RU/s planning).
Design multi-region replication and global distribution strategies for high availability and disaster recovery.
Implement data governance, security controls, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
Integrate Cosmos DB with other Azure services such as:
Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure Data Factory
Azure Functions
Microsoft Power BI
Lead performance tuning, monitoring, and cost optimization initiatives.
Establish best practices for CI/CD, Dev Ops, and infrastructure as code.
Provide technical leadership and mentor engineering teams.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data architectures.

Required Qualifications  7+ years of experience in data architecture and distributed systems.
3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Cosmos DB.
Strong expertise in No

SQL data modeling and schema design.
Experience designing globally distributed systems.
Deep understanding of consistency models, partitioning, and indexing strategies.
Proficiency in one or more languages (C#, Python, Java, or Node.js).

Experience with ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep for infrastructure automation.
Strong knowledge of cloud security and identity management.

Preferred Qualifications  Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Experience migrating from relational databases to Cosmos DB.
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and microservices.
Experience in high-scale production environments (millions of transactions per second).
