The Role
This role owns the behavioural intelligence of Speed Radio.
You are responsible for how discovery evolves, how ranking adapts, and how retention compounds through algorithmic decisions.
Your work directly shapes what people hear next — and whether they come back.
What You Will Own
Ranking Logic
Define signal weighting across listens, skips, follows, shares
Balance freshness vs familiarity
Build anti-repetition and diversification systems
Personalisation & Cold Start
Design ranking pathways for new users
Create exposure logic for new creators
Experimentation Framework
Run structured A/B testing
Perform cohort-based performance analysis
Statistically validate behavioural impact
Production Integration
Deploy ranking improvements into live environments
Maintain model performance stability
What Success Looks Like
Within 6 months:
Clear engagement uplift tied to ranking iterations
Reduced repetition fatigue
Within 12 months:
Measurable retention improvement attributable to discovery quality
A stable, scalable experimentation loop driving ranking decisions
Requirements
2–4 years experience in machine learning or recommendation systems
Strong experimentation discipline
Experience working with behavioural or engagement data
Comfortable shipping models to production
Clear understanding of trade-offs between metrics and user experience
