About the Role
We are looking for an experienced n8n Automation Specialist with deep hands-on expertise in designing, deploying, and scaling complex automation ecosystems using n8n. This role will own production-grade workflows, architecture decisions, and integrations across multiple business systems, ensuring high reliability, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead discovery of business processes and translate them into scalable n8n automation architectures.
Design, build, and deploy complex multi-step workflows using advanced n8n nodes, custom logic, and expressions.
Develop and manage integrations via APIs, webhooks, and custom connectors across internal and external systems.
Implement workflow versioning, error handling, retry strategies, and monitoring best practices.
Optimize automation performance, manage execution loads, and ensure system reliability in production.
Troubleshoot critical workflow failures and perform root-cause analysis.
Maintain clear technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and SOPs.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to scale automation initiatives.
Requirements
Strong hands on expertise in n8n (workflow design, custom nodes, self-hosted setups, and scaling).
Solid scripting ability (JavaScript preferred; Python is a plus).
Advanced experience with REST APIs, OAuth, JSON transformations, and webhook orchestration .
Experience designing fault-tolerant automation with logging, monitoring, and alerting.
Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities in production environments.
Ability to work independently and drive automation projects end-to-end.
Experience
4–8 years in workflow automation, integration engineering, or automation architecture.
Proven track record of building and maintaining high-volume, production-critical automations.
Experience handling complex logic such as branching, queues, async processes, and data transformations.
Prior ownership of automation infrastructure or platforms is strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs and building AI-driven workflows.
Exposure to self-hosting n8n, Docker, and deployment environments.
Integration experience with CRMs, marketing platforms, finance tools, or internal systems.
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Understanding of security, secrets management, and data governance in automation.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
