Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Partner – General Corporate to strengthen our corporate practice in Delhi. This role is open to Partners or Partner-track professionals from Tier-1 or strong Tier-2 law firms, with or without a portable book of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on general corporate and commercial matters, including:
Corporate advisory and governance, Day-to-day corporate compliance, Commercial contracts and arrangements
- Strategic corporate structuring and re-organisations
- Provide ongoing legal support to domestic and international clients across sectors.
- Act as the primary relationship partner for clients, delivering practical and commercially sound advice.
- Work closely with M&A, banking & finance, capital markets, employment, and regulatory teams on integrated matters.
Practice & Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and manage a core team of 1–2 Associates / Senior Associates.
- Oversee quality control, timelines, and associate development.
- Contribute to internal knowledge development and best-practice processes.
Business Development
- For candidates with a book of business: grow and deepen existing client relationships.
- For candidates without a book: actively participate in firm-led BD initiatives, pitches, referrals, and cross-selling.
- Contribute to thought leadership, client alerts, and market visibility initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Mandatory:
- 15+ years PQE in general corporate practice.
- Currently a Partner or Partner-track professional at a Tier-1 or strong Tier-2 law firm in India.
- Strong experience in corporate advisory, commercial contracts, and governance.
- Proven client-handling and leadership capabilities.
Preferred:
- Sectoral exposure such as technology, manufacturing, financial services, or consumer businesses.
- Ability to build and scale a sustainable general corporate practice.
