The Role
Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Operational Estates is looking to recruit 3
No Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the Estate's dayshift team to carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance across the hospital campus.
The applicants MUST be a time served electrician, having completed a recognized electrical apprenticeship, hold an IET 18th Ed Wiring Regs qualification, qualified to SVQ/HNC level (or currently working towards this qualification), with a minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience, ideally including a degree of experience working within a healthcare environment. A current, valid ECS/SJIB card is desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake and successfully complete the training required for appointment as a Competent Person (Low Voltage).

While the primary role of the post holder(s) will be to carry out electrical tasks, they will be part of a wider multi-skilled technical team and will be responsible for the delivery of specialist technical services for a wide range of duties in relation to all disciplines of building services, including, but not limited to, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. It is essential that the post holder accepts a wide range of cross trade duties so as to deliver a high standard of service.
All cross discipline training will be provided as required.
The successful applicant will also have responsibilities to assist with training and education of apprentices and adult trainees, ensuring they gain the necessary training and experience to meet the needs of their training program.

Location based in CMB Building, Queen Elizabeth University Campus, 1345 Govan Road, Glasgow, G51 4TF
Permanent Contract
Full-time position (36 hours per week)
Shift pattern for this post are Monday to Thursday, 08:00-16:00, Friday 08:00-14:30
Key Responsibilities
Provide a safe and comfortable environment for the provision of clinical care
Ascertain desired action using acquired skills and abilities to expedite best solution for desired outcome and assist putting solutions into practice
Interpret detailed manufacturers installation manuals and specification, technical data and wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for building services, systems, plant and equipment.
Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance in accordance with organisational and manufacturers recommendation, using appropriate tools, test equipment and recording details of work carried out, to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal operational ability. Respond to breakdowns, evaluate situation and take corrective action to ensure minimal disruption and damage.
In depth effective use of BMS (Building Management System) computer to set parameters and record data on a wide range of building services to provide correct environmental conditions throughout the hospital and provide an early warning of service faults ( Medical gas, heating,water, power etc.)
Work as a highly skilled competent person to maintain Medical Gas Piped Systems & associated gas supply plant & equipment in compliance with Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM 02-01) Pt B:
