On-call, typically 12-hour shifts; days and hours may vary. More details at interview.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements or restrictions.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, or cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selections; retrieve trays from patient rooms at scheduled times.
  • Comply with regulatory standards (federal, state, JCAHO); adhere to HIPAA policies and patient rights.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down patient tray lines.
  • Follow facility infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist dietitians, such as monitoring patients on restricted diets or calorie-controlled plans.
  • Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Able to lift or move up to 100 pounds occasionally and maneuver food delivery carts.
