Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical coding, billing procedures, and medical records management. The Medical Biller plays a vital part in maintaining the financial health of our practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Prior experience with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology is highly valued.

• Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding standards
• Review and verify medical records for completeness and accuracy before billing
• Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid or denied claims
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to medical billing and coding
• Maintain detailed documentation of billing activities within EMR/EHR systems
• Update and maintain patient information in medical records systems

• Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems
• Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and billing procedures
• Experience with medical collection processes and insurance claim submissions
• Ability to interpret medical documentation accurately for billing purposes
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in coding and billing processes
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to medical billing
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
