Where You Will Work

The Bureau of Field Operations is responsible for the survey and certification process of health care facilities across the State of Florida. These surveys ensure that all state licensed and federally certified health care facilities meet the established state and/or federal requirements and patients and residents receive safe, quality health care.

Field Operations staff also ensure the safety of residents in health care facilities when emergencies such as natural disasters occur.

Work You Will Do

The primary function of the Health Facility Evaluator II is to conduct inspections utilizing an established survey process. The survey process includes evaluation of health care facilities for state licensure and federal certification requirements for participation under Medicare/Medicaid.

The incumbent will document findings and complete written reports of survey findings. The incumbent may be required to perform surveys as an individual, team member or team leader.

As assigned by management, this position is required to successfully complete the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first 12 months of employment as required by Sections 1819(g)(2)(c)(ii) of the Social Security Act, as amended, and Article IV(B) of the Agreement pursuant to Section 1864 of the Social Security Act.

This position has been identified as mission essential.

The incumbent may be required to work during weekends, holidays and during disasters, which may include work in another county or staffing location. Emergency duties may encompass responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man‑made or natural.

The incumbent must be proficient with computer equipment and software programs, such as Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as smart phone technology.

The incumbent must also be available to work before and after normal work hours, including weekends and holidays. This position may require extensive travel, including significant overnight travel.

Successful completion of a criminal background investigation is a condition of employment. A good attendance record is essential; the work is daily and time‑critical. The individual must report to work daily and on time. Leave must be requested in advance except in emergency circumstances not under the control of the employee.

This position has a Competitive Area Differential (CAD) and will be hired at $1,692.31 + $36.80 = $1,729.11 - $1,946.16 + $36.80 = $1,982.96 biweekly and is non‑negotiable.
