• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on the assigned cash register, provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations; use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with all team members, demonstrating interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and Walgreens service traits including proactive help and needs identification.
• Provide courteous and efficient service; recommend items for sale and trade‑ups; recommend companion items.
• Process returns, refunds, exchanges, voids, and rain checks; collect cash and distribute change; assist customers in the OTC aisle when possible.
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised; take inventory and maintain records; check in and price merchandise as directed by store manager.
• Assist pharmacists in entering patient and drug information, fill prescriptions, verify medicine, check for interactions, and maintain workflow as directed by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager.
• Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies, including the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policy.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist’s direct attention, including those to physicians.
• Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner; perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Support pharmacy department inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals; file claims for overages, shortages, and damaged goods.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
• Construct and maintain promotional displays, seasonal structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions as directed.
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement per policies; perform stock rotation using first‑in, first‑out.
• Maintain knowledge of store systems, equipment, and digital photo services.
• Assume web pick‑up responsibilities, monitor orders, fill items, and deliver to customers upon arrival.
• Assist with exterior and interior store maintenance to preserve a clean and orderly appearance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
• Attend training and complete required PPLs; acquire continuing education credits; maintain knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
