Grocery Team Member (Stocker, Inventory, Floor Service, Customer Service) – Part Time

Base pay range: $15.00/hr – $24.40/hr
Providing support as a member of the Grocery team to include receiving and preparing product, maintaining the grocery floor and displays, and selling product in support of WFM standards.
Responsibilities- Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well‑stocked, rotating and removing out‑of‑date products.
- Stock and clean grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen and dairy cases.
- Monitor and prevent spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisors.
- Maintain back stock in good order.
- Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
- Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
- Assist with periodic inventory checks.
- Arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; work all scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
- Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely manner, and model suggestive selling techniques; answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
- Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
- Follow and comply, or ensure compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintain, or ensure maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintain equipment in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
- Ability to sell proactively.
- Basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
- Proactively read labels and familiarise themselves with various products.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to deliver information clearly and respectfully to fellow Team Members, customers, and vendors.
- Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organisation skills.
- Passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Understanding of and compliance with WFM quality goals.
- No prior retail experience required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In an 8‑hour workday: standing/walking 6–8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: 90°F.
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

Eligibility is determined under the terms of the applicable Whole Benefits plan at the date of hire. New entry‑level Team Members who successfully complete their first 90 days of employment and remain actively employed in an eligible role may be eligible for a base rate increase after their 90‑day anniversary.
