Senior Controller at Village Farms

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Senior Controller is vital for maintaining integrity in accounting records and financial reports. You will lead critical processes including monthly closings, auditing, and inventory accounting while ensuring adherence to US GAAP and internal controls. This role combines leadership with financial acumen to improve systems and processes within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

• Oversee general ledger and day-to-day accounting operations

• Manage inventory and cost accounting reviews and processes

• Ensure compliance with SOX and US GAAP standards

• Coordinate and support external audit requirements

Requirements:

• Canadian CPA designation required

• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, 3 in leadership

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards and compliance

• Experience with external audits and financial reporting

• Proficiency in ERP systems, especially Acumatica
