The salary range for this position is $54,000 to $74,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. Please note that the offer may fall anywhere within the posted range and is not necessarily at the top end.

Location

There are two work sites for this position. TI Corp’s downtown Vancouver office and the Fraser River Tunnel Project’s Community Office in Ladner (5180 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta). Office time will be split between the two offices, with Wednesdays and Thursdays spent at the community office with another team member.

Overview

The Communications and Engagement Coordinator will be a key member of the Project communications and engagement team. Reporting to the Segment Manager, Stakeholder Engagement, the position is responsible for gathering and summarizing a variety of information/issues, responding to requests for information from the public and stakeholders, and coordinating engagement activities for the Fraser River Tunnel Project.

The Fraser River Tunnel Project includes a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.

Key Accountabilities
  • Supports the communications and engagement team to implement the overall communications and engagement program for the Fraser River Tunnel Project, including public and stakeholder requests, general communications activities, and incorporating local, business, and community needs into the design and implementation phases of the Project.
  • Supports the development of materials for different audiences and across different platforms with minimal direction, including writing newsletter content for the public, helping to draft key messages for spokespeople and creating PowerPoint presentations with speaking notes for stakeholder meetings.
  • Plans and tailors content and messaging to a variety of audiences and ensures content and messaging is consistent with the team’s overall communications strategy.
  • Manages the public inquiry process by identifying and gathering information to draft responses, drafting responses and completing approvals processes.
  • Assists with the management of the project website and other communications platforms.
  • Leads the documentation and tracking of the team’s external communications and activities, including management of the team’s stakeholder management system (Jambo) and other regulatory reporting tools.
  • Analyzes, summarizes and communicates trends in public and stakeholder feedback to support decision‑making and planning processes and enables the mitigation of potential issues.
  • Attends public events to share information about the project, collect public feedback and document concerns, issues and requests for information requiring follow‑up.
  • Provides general coordination functions, including records management and interface with other disciplines, scheduling meetings and events, and preparing a variety of documents (e.g., meeting minutes, correspondence, summary reports, fact sheets, agendas, presentations, stakeholder notifications).
  • Plans and coordinates engagement activities with key stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism or relevant discipline with 1‑3 years of experience.
  • Experience with communications planning, message development and issues management.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to provide logistical support for meetings and events.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient at MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Detail‑oriented and willing to take on new tasks.
  • Ability to handle the demands of a fast‑paced environment.
  • Successful completion of security screening will be required as a condition of employment with TI Corp.
