City of Delta Program Leader - General Programs/YouthThe City of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative and energetic individuals to lead a variety of sport, art & culture, youth development, childcare and similar recreation programs depending on qualifications and program needs. Program Leaders are responsible for planning, leading and supervising safe, engaging and inclusive program for participants ages 2-18 years. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, display a high level of energy and be passionate about working with children and youth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate recreation programs and activities
- Supervise participants to ensure safety, inclusion, and positive behavior
- Set up, maintain, and store equipment and materials
- Adapt activities to meet the needs and abilities of participants
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents/guardians, and staff
- Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and emergency procedures
- Maintain attendance records and report incidents as required
- Work collaboratively with other staff and supervisors
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with children, youth, or community programs
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage participants in a fun and positive manner
- Knowledge of safety practices relevant to recreation programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience working with children and youth in a recreation setting is preferred
- Valid First Aid, Food Safe, CPR and High Five and/or Responsible Adult certifications are an asset.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is desired.
The City of Delta provides a competitive starting wage of $23.86-$27.98 per hour. Interested applicants are requested to apply online at to competition number #25-275 EX by January 30, 2026.
