Salary Offered
$17.69/hour and up. The salary is calculated based on a maximum of 35 working hours per week. Work schedules are prepared based on 6 opening days.
Schedule5 days per week. Weekdays and weekends between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. The Vieux-Poste and the Musée are closed on Mondays.
DurationSeasonal (13 weeks, from Saint‑Jean‑Baptiste Day to Labour Day), with some assignments possible on weekends and on cruise ships during the autumn.
Duties- Collaborating with the coordination, handle the logistics for on‑site operations.
- Check the collection of admission fees from visitors and compile data.
- Welcome customers and host visits with them.
- Submit all information related to site safety and cleanliness, and comments from visitors.
- Ensure the site is clean at all times.
- Educate visitors on the region’s heritage and tourist attractions.
- Attend work meetings about the visit schedule, professional development, and any problems or challenges encountered in the course of duties for this position.
- Carry out various related tasks to welcome visitors, ensure their comfort, keep the site clean and ensure that both it and the store run smoothly.
- Very good knowledge of spoken French and English.
- Knowledge of the region’s history and the tourist attractions it offers.
- Strong ability to host events and convey information to a wide audience.
- Interest in and desire to pass on local history.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Openness and authority when it comes to service quality and site cleanliness.
- Sense of initiative.
- Public speaking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Openness to cultural differences.
The work of these various roles will be directly managed by the Vieux‑Poste coordination, which will ensure workplace preparedness, monitoring and quality of work throughout the contract period. Supervisors will explain work methodologies and the preferred approach for all guided tours, and will train the job holder to respond appropriately to visitors’ questions. The job holder will also receive hands‑on training that should enable them to provide a personalized welcome experience to visitors, manage groups, provide a structured and pleasant visit experience, organize and run global site visits, and write attendance reports.
