Join the Beaufort Delta Divisional Education Council as a passionate Teacher for Grades 7-9, implementing a curriculum that celebrates diversity and Indigenous heritage. Support students in a culturally rich environment focused on equity and inclusion.
BDDEC is looking for an enthusiastic Educator committed to indigenization and community engagement. You will design and execute a competency-based curriculum that honors local Indigenous knowledge, delivering lessons that promote equity and foster a sense of belonging for every student.
Your role will emphasize collaboration with the community for continuous improvement in educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design competency-based curriculum with Indigenous insights
• Promote cultural inclusion in educational practices
• Address disparities and foster inclusive classroom strategies
• Actively engage with local community stakeholders
• Enhance land-based learning opportunities for students
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Education
• Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate eligibility
• Understanding of Indigenous history and traditions
• Experience implementing inquiry-based pedagogy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Drive meaningful change in education, focusing on diversity and Indigenous knowledge as a Grades 7-9 Teacher with BDDEC.
