Position: Beaufort Junior High Teacher Role

BDDEC is seeking a dynamic educator to shape educational programs that reflect local Indigenous perspectives. You will be responsible for implementing a competency-based curriculum and promoting an inclusive learning environment. Collaboration with community members and Elders is key to ensure cultural authenticity in teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a curriculum rooted in Indigenous knowledge

• Cultivate a classroom that promotes equity and inclusion

• Engage with community input to refine educational programs

• Incorporate land-based education into the curriculum

• Assess and evaluate student competencies effectively

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education

• Eligible for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certification

• Strong understanding of Indigenous histories and cultures

• Experience in competency-based education

• Proven dedication to diversity and equity
