Counsellor & Suspension Program Coordinator

Join Delta School District as a Secondary Counsellor, focusing on supporting students in the Suspension Program. Employ trauma-informed methods to facilitate student success during challenging periods.

In this role, you will connect with students who are temporarily unable to attend their home programs. You'll provide critical academic support, implement personal development strategies, and work toward fostering an inclusive environment in Delta secondary schools. Your efforts will directly impact the well-being and growth of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with students during their absence from school

• Assist with academics provided by home school

• Address underlying personal issues through targeted skill building

• Counsel families and support personal growth

• Liaise with external agencies for better outcomes

Requirements:

• Master's degree in counselling required

• Proven teaching experience at the secondary level

• Proficiency in trauma-informed techniques

• Experience with educational plan implementation

• Current CPI training preferred
