ResponsibilitiesThe Gas Turbine Engine Mechanic is responsible for carrying out disassembly, assembly, inspection and test stand work on gas turbine engines. Typical duties include implementing work plans by following instructions from various sources, using test and measuring equipment, recognizing and reporting defects on parts and assemblies, certifying correctness of work, performing preliminary inspections, raising and creating repair documents in ECMS, and ordering parts.
Requirements- Recognized apprenticeship to Transport Canada standards; international candidates must have a foreign aircraft mechanic/technician license or acceptable trade certificate.
- Minimum of one year of experience in engine or component maintenance, repair and overhaul processes.
- Experience with at least one of these engine types: CF6‑50/80, V2500, CFM
56, CFMLEAP, PW2000. - Experience with engine testing is an asset.
- Good knowledge of main standard inspection and repair processes used in engine repair.
- Ability to use computer systems with standard EDP software (Word, Excel, Access, PDF formatting); intermediate SAP knowledge required.
- Capability to provide technical advice to others.
- Very good interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with other personnel in a calm, positive manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
