Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Laboratory Technician specializing in Energy Minerals to join our team in Delta, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests and analyses on energy mineral samples, ensuring accurate results and maintaining a safe work environment.
Perform sample preparation, analysis, and characterization of energy minerals using specialized laboratory equipment and techniquesCollect, record, and analyze data from experiments and tests, ensuring accuracy and completenessMaintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionalityAdhere to and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the laboratoryConduct quality control checks and implement quality assurance measuresPrepare detailed reports and present findings to team members and stakeholdersCollaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals on research projects and investigationsStay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in energy mineral analysisAssist in developing and improving laboratory procedures and methodologiesQualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the energy or minerals industryProficiency in operating and maintaining various laboratory equipment and instrumentsStrong knowledge of sample preparation and analysis techniques for energy mineralsExcellent data collection, analysis, and reporting skillsThorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols and proceduresExperience with mineral testing and characterization methodsProven ability to implement and maintain quality control and assurance measuresProficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systemsKnowledge of energy minerals and their propertiesFamiliarity with industry standards and regulations related to energy mineral analysisStrong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational and time management skillsEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesLaboratory safety certification (, OSHA) preferred
