We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Laboratory Technician specializing in Energy Minerals to join our team in Delta, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting various laboratory tests and analyses on energy mineral samples, ensuring accurate results and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform sample preparation, analysis, and characterization of energy minerals using specialized laboratory equipment and techniques
- Collect, record, and analyze data from experiments and tests, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the laboratory
- Conduct quality control checks and implement quality assurance measures
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to team members and stakeholders
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals on research projects and investigations
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices in energy mineral analysis
- Assist in developing and improving laboratory procedures and methodologies
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the energy or minerals industry
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various laboratory equipment and instruments
- Strong knowledge of sample preparation and analysis techniques for energy minerals
- Excellent data collection, analysis, and reporting skills
- Thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
- Experience with mineral testing and characterization methods
- Proven ability to implement and maintain quality control and assurance measures
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems
- Knowledge of energy minerals and their properties
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to energy mineral analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Laboratory safety certification (e.g., OSHA) preferred
Compensation: $21 - $23 per hour / 40 hours per week.
