Lead Estimator at W.S. Nicholls

In this role, you will report directly to the President while managing the estimating function for complex industrial projects. Your responsibilities include developing project budgets from initial design concepts and mentoring a team of estimators. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with clients and subcontractors during the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and prepare detailed cost estimates for projects

• Analyze Design-Build project budgets accurately

• Interpret and review construction drawings and specifications

• Develop preliminary schedules for estimates

• Train and mentor junior estimating staff

Requirements:

• 10-15 years of estimating experience in heavy industry

• Proficient understanding of construction drawings

• Diploma in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Clean BC Class 5 driver's license and RCMP record check
