This role is key in facilitating psychiatric care within Emergency Departments while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams. You'll assess patient needs and develop care plans, fostering patient and family inclusion in treatment decisions and facilitating referrals to community-based mental health resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Screen and assess psychiatric referrals promptly
• Collaborate on care planning with mental health teams
• Provide short-term follow-up for treated pediatric patients
• Document interventions and treatment plans diligently
• Liaise with community resources for patient support
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse/Psychiatric Nurse with BCCNM registration
• Recent experience in acute pediatric psychiatry
• Valid BC Driver's license required
• In-depth knowledge of mental illness treatment
• Strong advocacy and communication skills
