The Junior Logistics Analyst will assist with analyzing courier and freight forwarder reports, consolidating transport and customs data, and filing/monitoring customs duty and tax claims.
Tasks:- Review commercial invoices and shipment documents to identify incorrect duties and surcharges
- File dispute claims with couriers for shipments with incorrect charges
- Communicate and report discrepancies to the Finance team promptly
- Document all identified discrepancies and dispute actions internally for record-keeping and audit purposes
- Follow up with couriers on the status of dispute claims until resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed to resolve shipment charge issues
- Create and maintain KPIs and the necessary tracking spreadsheets relating to transport duties and taxes.
- Bachelor degree in a Logistics or Procurement related areas
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Logistics, Procurement, Customs or related areas
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and ERP systems; experience with shipping platforms (e.g., Fed Ex, DHL) is an asset.
- Familiarity with SAP transactions, preferably within the MM (Materials Management) module
- Experience interpreting commercial invoices and bills of lading
- Familiarity with import/export regulations, tariff classification (HS code), and trade agreements (e.g., CUSMA/USMCA).
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to stay updated on changing tariff regulations and scenarios
